This is one of the easisest recipe to make delcious fish curry and fish fry. We are using pink perch fish. It is a very delicate fish, and it tastes great. The best way to cook this fish is to make curry in thick cocount gravy. And the simple fish fry would also taste amazing. You can have this curry and fry with boiled rice.

How to make Pink Perch Fish Curry
What you’ll need
Fish – 200 gm
Coconut (grated) – 100gm
Raw Mango (sliced) – 1
Shallots (sliced) – 3
Ginger (julienned) – 1 tsp
Green Chilli (slitted) – 6
Turmeric Powder – 1/4 tsp
Coriander Powder – 1/2 tsp
Kashmiri Chilli Powder – 3/4 tsp
Coconut Oil – 2 tbsp
Salt – 1 1/4 tsp
Water – 1 1/2 cup
Curry Leaves – 1/2 tsp
How to make it
- To make coconut mixture for the curry, add 100 gm of grated coconut, 1/4 tsp of turmeric powder, 1/2 tsp of coriander powder, 3/4 tsp of kashmiri chilli powder, 1/2 tsp of ginger, 3/4 tsp of salt into a blender and grind it. Add 3/4 cup of water to make a fine paste.
- Place a pot on the stove and add the coconut mixture and 3/4 cup of water.
- Add the remaining ginger, sliced shallots and 6 slitted green chillies and curry leaves and mix it well.
- Once the mixture starts boiling, add the fish pieces.
- Once the mixture starts boiling again, add the sliced raw mango and mix it gently.
- Close and cook for 15 minutes on a medium heat.
- After 15 minutes open and mix gently.
- Check the salt and add 1/2 tsp salt if necessary. Mix it gently.
- Add 1/4 cup more water. Close and cook for 5 more minutes.
- After 5 minutes mix it gently.
- Check if the fish is cooked, fish must be cooked well by now.
- Add 2 tbsp of coconut oil and curry leaves.
- Close and keep it aside. Fish curry is ready to serve.
How to make Pink Perch Fish Fry
What you’ll need
Fish – 200 gm
Garlic Cloves – 2
Ginger – 1/2 inch
Shallots(sliced) – 3
Turmeric Powder – 3 pinches
Kashmiri Chilli Powder – 1 1/2 tsp
Black Pepper – 3/4 tsp
Curry Leaves
Coconut Oil
Green Chilli – 1
Salt – 1/2 tsp
How to make it
- To make marinade for the fish fry, add 3/4 tsp of black pepper, 2 sliced garlic cloves, 1/2-inch ginger, 2 sliced shallots, curry leaves, 3 pinches of turmeric powder, 1 1/2 tsp of kashmiri chilli powder and 1/2 tsp of salt into a blender and grind them. I added 2 tbsp of water to make the marinade in proper consistency.
- Coat the cleaned and cut fish pieces evenly with the mixture. Keep the marinated fish aside for 15 minutes.
- To fry the fish, add 2 tbsp of coconut oil into a pan. Add curry leaves and place the marinated fish pieces on it. Stove must be on a medium heat.
- Pour few drops of oil on top of the fish.
- After 8 minutes, flip the fish pieces.
- Pour few drops of oil on top of the fish.
- After 8 minutes, flip the fish pieces again.
- Add sliced shallots, curry leaves and 1 sliced green chilli. Pour few drops oil on them and mix.
- Fish fry is ready. Take it off from the stove.
