Cutlets are always a great choice for snack. They are simple and delicious and great while served with green chutney and tomato ketchup. You can cook cutlets in different ways, deep fried, air fried or baked.

How to make Chickpea Cutlets
Ingredients
Chickpeas (cooked) – 250 gm
Potato (cooked & mashed) – 150 gm
Onion (finely chopped) – 1 (small)
Green Chilly (finely chopped) – 1
Ginger (finely chopped) – 1 tsp
Lime Juice – 1 tsp
Salt – 1 tsp
Bread Crumbs
Coriander Leaves (finely chopped) – 1/2 cup
Oil – to fry
To coat the cutlet patties:
Corn Flour – 3 tbsp
Salt – 1/4 tsp
Water – 5 tbsp
Directions
- Grind the cooked chickpeas coarsely without adding water.
- This is the coarsely grinded chickpeas.
- Add finely chopped onion, green chilly, 1 tsp of ginger, 1/2 cup of coriander leaves.
- Add mashed potato, 1 tsp of lime juice, 1 tsp of salt, 1 tbsp of bread crumbs.
- Mix everything well.
- Make cutlet patties as shown (you can shape it the way you want).
- Dip the cutlet patties in corn flour mixture and coat it with bread crumbs.
- Cultet patties are ready to fry.
- Fry the cutlet patties in hot oil.
- Turn them in between.
- Once it turns crisp and golden brown in color, take it out from the oil.
- Fry all the cutlet patties like this.
- Cutlets are ready to be served with green chutney and tomato ketchup.
**To bake the cutlets:
- Preheat the oven at 180°C.
- Place the cutlet patties in a tray and bake it for 20 mins.
- After 20 mins, flip and brush the patties with oil and cook for another 15 mins.
**To make rice flour mixture that can be used to coat the cutlets instead of corn flour mixture:
Rice Flour – 3 tbsp
Plain Flour – 1 tbsp
Salt – 1/4 tsp
Water – 9 tbsp
