In this blog, let us see how can we make Kerala style fish curry, we call it mulakitta meen curry. And also delicious mashed cassava to go with it.

Ingredients:
Fish (Sea Bream) – 2 (900 gm)
Ginger – 2 inch
Garlic Cloves – 15
Shallots – 8
Green Chilly – 1
Curry Leaves
Turmeric Powder – 3/4 tsp
Coriander Powder – 2 tsp
Hot Chilly Powder – 1 tsp
Kashmiri Chilly Powder – 4 tbsp
Salt – 1 1/2 tsp
Fenugreek Powder – 1/4 tsp
Coconut Oil – 2 1/2 tbsp
Gambooge – 4 (Clean and soak it in 1 cup of water)

Directions:
- First of all, let us chop ginger, garlic, shallots and slit green chilly
- Place a clay pot on the stove and add 2 1/2 tbsp of coconut oil
- Add chopped ginger, garlic, shallots, green chilly, curry leaves, salt and mix it well
- Close and let it cook for a minute
- Open the lid and mix
- Add 3/4 tsp of turmeric powder, 2 tsp of coriander powder and 1 1/2 tsp of salt and mix well
- Now add 1 tsp of hot chilly powder and 4 tbsp of kashmiri chilly powder and mix
- Add soaked gambooge along with the water and mix
- Close the lid and let it boil for 2 minutes
- Now add the cleaned fish pieces and stir as shown
- Close and cook for 15 minutes
- After 15 minutes open and mix it well. Close and cook for another 5 minutes
- Now, add curry leaves, 1/4 tsp of fenugreek powder and mix
- Our fish curry is ready. Close and keep it aside

Ingredients:
Cassava/Tapioca – 900 gm
Grated Coconut – 250 gm
Green Chilly – 3
Sliced Shallots – 2
Curry Leaves
Salt – 2 tsp
Tumeric Powder – 1/4 tsp
Coconut Oil – 1/2 tsp
Water
Directions:
- To cook tapioca, place a pressure cooker on the stove and add tapioca, 1 1/2 tsp of salt, 1/2 tsp of turmeric powder and water.
- Mix everything. Close and let it cook
- When the first wishtle of the pressure cooker is about to blow, keep it aside
- Once cooker is depressurized, open and check if tapioca is cooked well
- Drain the water from the cooker and place it on the stove again
- Grind the grated coconut, shallots, green chillies, curry leaves, 1/4 tsp of turmeric and 1/2 tsp of salt. Blend it together, but do not make it as a paste
- Add this mixture to tapioca and mix it really well
- Check the taste. If you need more salt, add salt water instead of adding salt directly
- Add curry leaves and 1/2 tsp of coconut oil for the flavour and keep it aside
- Our mashed cassava is ready to be served with spicy fish curry! Enjoy!
