We all must have made or had different types of laddu. When I was thinking of making a laddu I thought of trying something new, Oats and Nuts. This laddu will be very tasty and healthy as well.
We will be making this laddu with oats, nuts, jaggery and without any ghee. I am using badam, cashew nuts and peanuts. You can replace these with other nuts if you want.
We also use dessicated cocount to roll the laddus at the end. This is optional.

How to make Oats & Nuts Laddu
Ingredients
Rolled Oats – 1 1/2 cup
Peanuts – 1/3 cup
Sesame – 1/4 cup
Cashew Nuts – 14
Almonds – 18
Jaggery – 200 gm
Cardamom & Cumin Powder – 1 tsp
Desiccated Coconut – 1/4 cup (optional)
Directions
- First, let us dry roast the ingredients. Add 1 1/2 cup of rolled oats into a pan and dry roast it. Coarsely grind the oats once it is cooled.
- Add 1/3 cup of peanuts into the pan and dry roast it. Coarsely grind the peanuts once cooled.
- Dry roast almonds and cashew nuts as well. Coarsely grind these nuts once cooled.
- Dry roast 1/4 cup of sesame seeds and keep it aside.
- Dry roast 1/4 cup of desiccated coconut and keep it aside.
- Now, let us make melt the jaggery with water. Add 200 gm of jaggery and 1/2 cup of water into a saucepan.
- Once the jaggery is melted completely, take it off from the stove. Strain & keep it aside.
- Now we can make the laddu. Add ground oats and roasted sesame seeds into a bowl.
- Add ground almond & cashew nuts.
- Add 1 tsp of cardamom & cumin powder and mix.
- Add 1/4 cup of melted jaggery and mix. Make sure the jaggery is hot while making the laddu mixture, as it thickens when it cools down.
- Add 1/4 cup more of melted jaggery and mix.
- Add almost 3/4 cup of ground peanuts and 1/4 cup of jaggery and mix.
- Check the consistency of the mixture, whether you can shape a laddu.
- The mixture is wet, so add 1 tbsp more of ground peanuts and mix.
- Now the mixture is ready to roll.
- Roll mixture into laddu and coat it with dry roasted desicated coconut as shown. As I mentioned at the start, you can ignore this if you want.
- If the mixture gets harder in between, heat the mixture in a microwave for 25 seconds or heat it in a pan for 2 minutes.
- Prepare the rest of the laddu in the same way.
- Our Oats & Nuts laddus are ready to serve.
