Let us make a quick and easy starter using prawn. We will make an easy marination using Asian flavours and coat it on the prawns. After the marination, keep it aside for 10 minutes before cooking them.
After 10 mnutes, skewer the prawns on sticks and pan fry them. Once they are cooked, we would toss the prawns in honey, red chilly flakes and sesame seeds.

How to make Prawn Skewers
What you’ll need
Prawns – 200 gm
Plain Flour – 1/4 cup
Corn Flour – 1 tbsp
Ginger&Garlic Paste – 1/4 tsp
Cayenne Pepper – 1/2 tsp
Black Pepper – 1 tsp
Red Chilli Flakes – 1 1/2 tsp
Honey – 1 1/4 tbsp
Dark Soya Sauce – 1 tsp
Sweet Chilli Sauce – 1 1/2
Sesame Seeds – 1 tsp
Salt – 1/2 tsp
Oil – 2 tbsp
How to cook it
- To make the marination for prawns, add 1/4 cup of plain flour, 1 tbsp of corn flour, 1/2 tsp of salt, 1/2 tsp of cayenne pepper, 1 tsp of black pepper powder, 1 tsp of red chilli flakes, 1/4 tsp of ginger&garlic paste, 1 tsp of dark soya sauce and 1 1/2 tsp of sweet chilli sauce into a bowl.
- Add water in parts to make a smooth batter. I used less than 1/4 cup of water.
- Add the cleaned prawns and coat it with the batter. Keep it aside for 10 minutes.
- After 10 minutes, skewer a prawn on sticks.
- To pan fry the prawns, add 2 tbsp of oil into a pan.
- Place the prawn skewer on the pan.
- After 1 minute turn them in between till both the sides are seared.
- Once they are light brown in color close and cook for 1 minute.
- After 1 minute turn the prawns.
- Once prawn skewers are cooked, take it off them the pan.
- Place a pan on the stove and add all the cooked prawn skewers.
- Add 1 1/4 tbsp of honey, 1/2 tsp of red chilli flakes and 1 tsp of sesame seeds and toss them. Let it coat the prawns properly.
- Take it off from the stove and serve it hot.
