Momos is a type steamed or fried dumpling. White flour and water is maily used to make the outer covering of the moms, but here we are using the whole wheat flour.
Filling can be minced meat or finely chopped vegetables. In this we are using a combination of cooked and minced chicken and finely chopped veggies served with a spicy and tangy sauce.
You can prepare the filling a day before and keep it in the refrigerator.

How to make Wheat Chicken Momos
Ingredients:
For Dough:
Wheat Flour – 1 1/2 cup
Oil – 4 tbsp
Salt – 1 tsp
Water – 3/4 cup
For Filling:
Chicken Breast – 2 (300gm)
Carrot (finely chopped or grated) – 1/2 cup
Cabbage (finely chopped or grated) – 1 cup
Capsicum (finely chopped) – 1/4 cupSpring Onion (chopped) – 2 tbsp
Garlic (finely chopped) – 1 tbsp
Ginger (finely chopped) – 1 tsp
Green Chilly (slitted in half) – 1
Black Pepper Powder – 1 tsp
Salt – 1/2 tsp
Soya Sauce – 1/4 tsp
Garlic (finely chopped) – 1/2 tbsp
For Sauce
Dry Red Chillies (soaked in hot water) – 6
Tomatoes – 3
Garlic (finely chopped) – 1/2 tbsp
Soya Sauce – 1/2 tsp
Oil – 1 1/2 tbsp
Salt – 1/4 tsp
Directions:
1. Add salt to the wheat flour and mix it.
2. Add water as required to knead the dough well. I have used nearly 3/4 cup of water to knead.
3. Add oil and knead it again. Now close and keep it aside.
4. To make the filling, cook the chicken breast by adding 1/4 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp pepper powder and water.
5. Once chicken is cooked, strain the stock and mince the chicken using a chopper or mixer.
6. Place a pan on the stove and add 2 tbsp of oil. Add ginger, 1/2 tsp garlic, green chilly and saute it.
7. Add carrot and saute it for a minute.
8. Add cabbage and mix it well.
9. Add capsicum and spring onion.
10. Add 1/4 tsp salt and 1/2 tsp pepper powder and mix it.
11. Taste it. Need more salt, so i am adding 1/4 tsp salt.
12. Add the minced chicken and mix it.
13. Add 1/4 tsp soya sauce and mix.
14 Taste it again. .Remove the green chilly as it was added just for the flavour.
15. Filling is ready, lets keep it aside.
16. While the filling is cooling down, lets make the sauce.
17. Take hot water in a vessel and add the tomato after making a cut as shown. Let it boil for 3-4 mins.
18. Remove the tomatoes from the water and then peel it.
19. Add the soaked red chilly along with tomatoes and grind it.
20. Heat a pan. Add 1 1/2 tbsp oil, then add garlic and saute it.
21. Add tomato and chilly paste to it and cook it on a low flame.
22. Add 1/4 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp soya sauce and mix.
23. Add a pinch of sugar to balance the taste.
24. Sauce is ready.
25. Now, prepare a steamer to cook the momos.
26. Take a dough ball from the kneaded dough and roll it into a thin circle. Do not add too much of flour to roll.
27. Now add the filling and pleat as shown to make it into a shape.
28. I made 24 momos from the kneaded dough and filling.
29. Lets place 9 momos in the steamer.
30. It took around 15 mins for momos to cook. Lets serve it now.
